How to be a published author when you have a life (and a career and kids and...)

Looking for an easy answer to this question? In truth, so are we.

Each of us (just like you!) is trying hard to find time amidst demanding jobs and crazy schedules to write.  None of us claims to have a full proof method, but here are our best tips nonetheless...

Audrey D. Brashich

"My best tip is try to reserve some of your best energy for writing. I'm a morning person, so I get up early to write before my kids and day job require my attention."

Jody Gerbig

“I write when everyone else is having fun/sleeping/enjoying the outdoors.. That's depressing, LOL"

Mary Taggart

"I just cart my around my lap top everywhere I go and write whenever and wherever I can."

Robin Morris

"With 2.5 jobs, I find that time blocking allows me to give one task my attention, so I don't feel like I'm neglecting anything. Checklists are my best friend!"

Natalie Derrickson

"The only way I can seem to get in a good creative flow is to be somewhere without something else to do. Sitting in the salon chair, in the waiting area of my kid’s Saturday morning practice, or if by some chance I’m actually early to something, in the special dead space of a waiting room – basically, when life’s demands fall away, my brain is on fire. Between those moments, it’s all learning, observing, and note-taking. Once there’s enough of a pile to work with, it’s time to force some dead space into existence and start plotting out my next project."
